About Randolph County Criminal History

Randolph County criminal records are split among local and state custodians. Sheriff Law Enforcement holds its own incident reports, court clerks maintain case files, WVDCR records custody, and the West Virginia State Police Criminal Identification Bureau keeps the fingerprint-based state history. The West Virginia Sex Offender Registry is another distinct source. We organize those official paths so readers can identify the right portal, counter, or phone line before making a request.

Why We Built This Site

West Virginia provides several routes to public criminal-record information, but those routes do not lead to one complete county file. Randolph Sheriff Law Enforcement creates and keeps its reports. WVDCR operates the regional-jail and prison searches. Randolph Magistrate and Circuit clerks hold the complaints, dockets, orders, and dispositions in their courts. The West Virginia State Police Criminal Identification Bureau maintains a biometric repository, not an unrestricted public name-search portal. We place verified contacts, search tools, known costs, and request steps in context so readers do not mistake one source for another.

What You Will Find Here

  • Agency contacts: verified routes to Randolph Sheriff Law Enforcement, both criminal-court clerks, and statewide custodians
  • Record guides: how to read and search Randolph County court cases without confusing a complaint with a disposition
  • Official check steps: how West Virginia's fingerprint-based CIB process differs from a public court-name search
  • Record relief: where qualifying West Virginia expungement petitions begin and which Randolph clerk handles the court file

What We Cannot Do

This is a privately run reference site with no connection to a West Virginia court, police department, sheriff's office, or state agency. Those limits mean:

  • We cannot issue a certified court file, rap sheet, or other official criminal record
  • We cannot submit an expungement petition, FOIA request, or other filing for a visitor
  • We cannot perform an official background check for any person
  • We cannot interpret a charge or give advice about a specific legal matter
  • We cannot promise that an agency's address, fee, phone, or procedure has not changed

An official copy must come from the custodian, such as the sheriff, a court clerk, WVDCR, or the West Virginia State Police Criminal Identification Bureau.

Search Partners

Outside providers power some search boxes. They control their services, results, prices, and signup terms. If a visitor follows one of those tools to a paid service, we may receive a referral fee that supports the site. We do not determine the provider's matches or charges, and its output is not an official Randolph County or West Virginia record.
